Professor Marco Wyss

Associate Dean for Global, Professor of International History and Security

Career Details

Marco Wyss is Associate Dean for Global in the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, Professor of International History and Security in the School of Global Affairs, and Co-Director of the Centre for War and Diplomacy at Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø. He is also a Research Fellow in the Department of Military History at the Faculty of Military Science, Stellenbosch University, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London.

Prior to joining Lancaster, he was Senior Lecturer at the University of Chichester and Senior Researcher at the Center for Security Studies, ETH Zurich. He has also held positions as Senior Humboldt Fellow at the Leibniz Institute of European History in Mainz, Senior Researcher at the University of Lausanne, and Research Fellow at the University of the Free State. In addition, he has held visiting professorships at Sciences Po Lille, Sciences Po Aix, and the French Military Academy at Saint-Cyr.

Marco holds an MA in History and Philosophy from the University of Neuch?tel and an MA in International History from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. He earned his PhD in Politics and International Relations and in History from the Universities of Nottingham and Neuch?tel.
