I was born and raised in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, England, having attended Ousedale school for my secondary education and A-Levels. I began studying at Â鶹¹ÙÍø back in 2015 as an undergrad and have enjoyed my time here so much that I have never left, attaining both integrated masters and research masters degrees.

Education

I began my PhD project at the STOR-i CDT at Â鶹¹ÙÍø in April of 2021. My PhD is in collaboration with Roche and supervised by Pavel Mozgunov and Thomas Jaki. My project is in the field of medical statistics where I explore the design and analysis of umbrella and basket trials under the Bayesian paradigm. For more details please see my research page.

MRes Statistics & Operational Research – Â鶹¹ÙÍø 2019-2021

In October 2019 I joined the STOR-i CDT at Â鶹¹ÙÍø as an MRes student. I studied a range of topics in Statistics and Operational Research including Bayesian and Likelihood Inference, Optimization and Stochastic Processes. I completed a short research project on response-adaptive randomization and to complete my masters I wrote a Phd research proposal for my project in the design and analysis of basket and umbrella studies supervised by Pavel Mozgunov and Thomas Jaki. I completed the masters in April 2021 and graduated with distinction.

MSci Mathematics – Â鶹¹ÙÍø 2015-2019

I graduated from Â鶹¹ÙÍø in 2019 with a first class honours integrated masters degree in Mathematics.

Throughout the course I studied a variety of topics in both pure mathematics and statistics. Whilst at Lancaster I participated in the study abroad scheme, spending my third year at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. In my final year as an undergraduate I focused my studies solely on statistics, undertaking a dissertation titled “Simultaneous inference in clinical trials”, which focused on the construction of simultaneous confidence intervals for treatment effects.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of academics, I participate in a variety of activities. My main hobby is competitive Trampolining which I have been doing since I was six years old. I am currently on the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Trampolining team and have been on the executive committee for the club for six years acting as health and safety officer, president, vice-captain and multiple times as captain. I’ve also recently got into bouldering rock climbing.

I spent the the summers of 2018 and 2019 working at a summer camp in the north woods of Wisconsin, USA. I took on different roles both years, the first being Outdoors specialist in which I took the children on camping trips, teaching them outdoor skills. I was then Ropes specialist where I was in charge of the rock climbing, zip line and ropes course area.
